[6.01/6.09] Preparation: Practical Planning

All students please note that this takes place immediately after school tomorrow. We will be looking at physical chemistry, mostly reaction kinetics. You are advised to read up in advance.

This is one of the many useful sites for a preliminary discussion. Here is another good starting point for the sufficiently enterprising. I shall leave you to dig around for more sites. Googling 'chemical kinetics' is good enough.

Infrared Spectroscopy

This is an excellent site for examining IR spectra. It is especially good because it shows molecular models and animates the vibrations that give rise to specific absorptions. You will need to download the CHIME plug-in.

I am quite impressed by the thoroughness shown in this summary of the addition and oxidation reactions of alkenes.
